Copilot Studio Agent Academy Gotchas

This is subject to change if Microsoft updates the training material or if they work out some of the bugs in Copilot Studio.

Lessons learned on my part:
1. Always double-check the website training guide for the correct input text values. The presenters in the YouTube videos do a great job, but there is a gap between what they are saying and what’s in the training material.

2. Check the values in your Dataverse table when testing prompts.
“Create an interview prep file for job application A01001”
If you ran the submit an application prompt once, the only value in your Job Application table will be A01000.
“Apply for the J10009 Power Platform Developer role”
In my Job Role table, the values range from J1000 to J1004.

3. When running flows with the run a prompt action, I continued to receive an unauthorized error. I’m a system admin in the target environment, and I’m fully licensed.
Error:

This is how I fixed the issue:
Note in the screenshot above, I’m working in the new flow designer. Switching to the old designer fixed the issue for me.
Using the https://make.powerapps.com/ portal, navigate to the environment where you are working on the Copilot Studio training. Click on Flows, locate the Doc Prep flow, and edit it. My flow had an error in the Run a prompt item/source field. I removed the value from the field, ran a test (the button at the top right of the screen), and entered an application number in the Job Applications table. Now it works.

Return to the Copilot studio where you were testing your agent. Click the new test session button and run the prompt again.
